Reviews for 2013 Domaine de Beaurenard Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge

  • 91 Points Wine Spectator

“Broad and muscular, with ganache, chestnut and leather notes out front, followed by a well-endowed core of blackberry, fig and black currant paste flavors. The intense, tobacco- and warm stone-fueled finish rumbles with bass, but has the needed acidity for lift and cut. Best from 2016 through 2024.”

  • 91 Points Vinous (Antonia Galloni)

“Bright ruby. Expressive red berry and cherry aromas are complicated by hints of candied lavender, anise and smoky minerals. Juicy raspberry and spicecake flavors show appealing sweetness and a smoky mineral undertone that gains power with air. Offers an attractive blend of power and vivacity, finishing with gentle tannic grip, a hint of sweet oak spices and very good persistence. ”

“Lush, with velvety fig, blackberry and black cherry fruit flavors layered with warm ganache, black licorice and fruitcake notes. Offers a polished feel through the finish, revealing some latent briary grip”

  • 91 Points Vinous  (Antonio Galloni )

“Deep ruby. Spicy cherry and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by peppery spices, licorice and mocha. Pliant and juicy, with energetic red and dark berry flavors, subtle sweetness and a hint of candied flowers. Gains weight with air but maintains its freshness, finishing smooth and long, with supple, even tannins.

Reviews for 2011 Domaine de Beaurenard Chateauneuf du PapeRouge

90 Points The Wine Advocate (Robert Parker)

“Moving to the reds, and an outstanding 2011, the traditional 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape is a blend of 70% Grenache, 10% each of Syrah and Mourvedre, and the balance Cinsault, which was aged all in foudre. Silky and polished, with ultra-fine tannin, medium-bodied richness and spice-laced aromas of blackberry fruit, licorice and brown spice, it is already approachable and delicious, yet should evolve gracefully given its overall balance and elegance. Drink now-2021.”

90 Points Vinous (Antonio Galloni)

“Vivid ruby-red. Fresh red and dark berries on the perfumed, spice-accented nose. Offers juicy black raspberry and spicecake flavors and a hint of white pepper, with a touch of licorice in the background. Closes spicy and long, with sneaky tannins adding shape and grip.”

Reviews for 2010 Domaine de Beaurenard Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge

93 Points Wine Spectator

“Provides a textbook display of the vintage’s profile, with racy acidity leading the way, allowing the ripe blueberry, plum and blackberry fruit flavors to course along while toasted spice and pastis notes fill in on the nicely grippy, saturated-but-fresh finish. A nice blue-chip for the cellar. Best from 2013 through 2023.”
